Frequently Asked Questions
Will You Help Me Choose Music?
Absolutely, we will take the time to go over your event needs to ensure that it is exactly as you envision. We can help you choose music for your ceremony, reception, or cocktail party. We have an extensive list of classical music for Prelude time as guests are being seated, for selections during the ceremony, specific songs can be accommodated or we can recommend selections for the unity candle and other liturgical aspects. Take a look at our repertoire.
Can you perform music that is not in your repertoire currently? I have a special piece that I want to be played.
Absolutely! We can work with you to customize selections for you. The purchase of music that is not currently in our large repertoire may mean that you would have an additional fee depending on availability of the piece. We do require advanced notice for this service so we have time to properly rehearse.
What is your booking process?
We collect a 20% non-refundable deposit to secure your date. The balance payment is due the week of your event, prior to the event. You will also get a digital contract to sign which will outline specific details to ensure all needs are met. As your event date approaches, we'll partner with you to help with song selections.
What Do You Require at the Venue?
We require 3 chairs with no arms, as well as a six by six performance area. We suggest that you communicate with your event planner to ensure that we have adequate space to perform. If we are hired to perform in multiple locations, adequate time to set up and tear down is also needed.
Do You Play Outdoors?
Yes! Our only concerns are for the safety of our instruments and our ability to provide quality service. Covering is required (gazebo, tent or full shade), and there must be no precipitation. The temperature must be at least 60 degrees to keep our instruments safe and to allow the optimal environment for the performers.
What do the Musicians Wear?
Prism String Ensemble dresses in formal black attire unless otherwise requested.
Do You Take Breaks?
Yes, depending on the length of the event, we usually take a 10 minute break for every 60 minutes of performing.
